Save time, boost efficiency and improve accuracy with EasyCatalog

Creating and managing catalogues, price lists and other marketing materials manually is a time-consuming task. It leads to inefficiency, errors and delays, preventing your marketing from performing at its best.

The traditional process of searching for, copying and pasting information is time-consuming and can lead to inconsistencies and outdated information.

We can help you set up EasyCatalog in InDesign. This allows you to streamline your catalogue management. Automatic data import and synchronisation ensure accuracy and save time when producing printed materials.

Time saving

EasyCatalog can generate hundreds of pages with a single click, error-free and ready to use straight away.

EEvery quarter, we compile personalised price lists for all our loyal customers, available in both Dutch and French. Previously, this task took my colleague and me over a week to complete. But thanks to EasyCatalog and Dieter’s expert guidance, we can now create them flawlessly in less than an hour!

Dirk Desmet | Desmet Bouwmaterialen
Just as tasting our wines is a sensory experience, we want to extend this feeling to every aspect of our business. The feel, the scent and the sound of turning the pages of our price list create a connection that technology cannot match.

James D. | James spirits & wines
As well as our printed catalogue, we’ve also had a handy PDF created by EasyCatalog. The best bit? With interactive features such as clickable product codes, you can easily navigate to the item you’re looking for in our online shop.

Luc Devries | LMN lighting
We work with technically complex products that require a large
amount of data. This made designing catalogues and
technical data sheets a time-consuming task.

Thanks to EasyCatalog, we can now manage our data centrally and import it directly into our InDesign files. This saves us a huge amount of time, allowing us to focus on what really matters: the design itself.

Frequently asked questions about EasyCatalog

With EasyCatalog, you can import various types of data, including Excel or CSV files. You can also connect to various systems such as Akeneo, Odoo, Microsoft Business Central, Compano, Pimcore, SharePoint, Plytix and more, via JSON/XML feeds (or ODBC/MySQL).

You can even link different sources together, for example by connecting product data to price tables via a unique ID. This makes it easy to retrieve and merge data.

To import images into EasyCatalog, you can place them locally on your computer or on a file server. The images can be located in different subfolders; EasyCatalog can automatically locate and import them.

Another option is to include a link to the image in your data. At the time of generation, EasyCatalog will automatically ‘download’ the most recent images, ensuring you always use the most up-to-date visuals.

Configuration and templating

We assist with setting up the system and creating custom templates. Following a successful implementation, we provide training so that you can get started on your own. All you need to do is renew the licences annually. Alternatively, you can opt for a maintenance contract for ongoing support.

Complete peace of mind

If desired, we can handle everything from A to Z for you. We take the entire process off your hands and deliver a print-ready PDF file as the end result.

Training

We offer comprehensive training so that you can get started with EasyCatalog independently. Of course, we understand that acquiring all the necessary knowledge and skills takes time, but we provide you with the tools and guidance you need to become confident in using the system.

The standard turnaround time for EasyCatalog is two months from approval of the quote, provided that all information and data are available.

Once a catalogue has been generated automatically, you can retrieve the page number for each item on the page. You can then use these page numbers to create a table of contents or an index, or a table of contents for each chapter, etc.
Naturally, we can then link these to the correct page (in the case of a PDF).

Templates are created in InDesign and determine how your product(s) are displayed in EasyCatalog. A template can be a full page or spread (for example, for technical data sheets), or simply a product block that is repeated throughout your document.

Multiple templates can be created, after which EasyCatalog automatically selects the most suitable one, depending on the chapter or other criteria. The logic you can apply is endless, ensuring that repetitive data can be created and adapted quickly.

Yes! There are several ways to create a multilingual catalogue:

  • you can generate a separate document for each language
  • you can choose to generate the different languages simultaneously (in separate layers)
  • you can create a document based on (preferably the longest language – in most cases French). Using a search-and-replace function, you can then replace all French-language fields with another language. Because you can group different language fields (using a suffix, e.g. _be-FR), you can do this quickly.

When I work with a large/dynamic database, I include a field where you can enter the desired language, and then all data is filtered by that language for further use.

The following barcodes and QR codes can be generated automatically in EasyCatalog (so there is no need to create them separately first!):

EAN5,
EAN8,
EAN13,
EAN14,
Code 39,
Code 128,
GS1-128,
UPCA,
I2Of5,
Data Matrix,
QR Code.

EAN13, Data Matrix and QR codes are the most commonly used codes.

These can also be made clickable in the case of a PDF.

If you don’t have a database or product photos yet, don’t worry! We can put you in touch with the right partners.
Master Data Partners, for example, is an excellent company that can handle the photography and data entry for your products.

Yes and no!
Setting up the system requires some thought and problem-solving.

With EasyCatalog, you can achieve your goal in various ways, but what is the best way…?

That’s why I’m here, as a certified EasyCatalog specialist, to help you!

Once everything has been set up, tested and approved, it really is easy to start generating content yourself!

E

EasyCatalog has a powerful “grouping function”. This allows products to be grouped by chapter/sub-chapter/category/product group/etc.

Products available in different variants (colour, sizes, weight, dimensions, capacity, etc.) can be grouped so that, for example, a single image is displayed alongside a table listing the different variants.

With over 16 years’ experience under my belt, I have the expertise needed to see your project through to a successful conclusion. From a ‘simple’ installation to bespoke scripts designed to synchronise your data or streamline your workflow, we can certainly help.

JavaScript and Lua are my daily bread. With the right connections within the advertising and marketing world, we always think alongside you.
